The FBX models target\u00a0utilization mostly in Unreal Engine 4 and SONY PhyreEngine (Playstation VR) &#8211; within <a href=\"http:\/\/revealvr.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\">REVEAL Project<\/a>. Overall process started out from basic props and components (e.g. column, doors, braziers, etc&#8230;) most of them re-optimized to fullfil proper guidelines, including PBR requirements within VR fruition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-503\" src=\"https:\/\/osiris.itabc.cnr.it\/scenebaker\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/assets-strip.jpg\" alt=\"assets-strip\" width=\"1422\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/osiris.itabc.cnr.it\/scenebaker\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/assets-strip.jpg 1422w, https:\/\/osiris.itabc.cnr.it\/scenebaker\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/assets-strip-300x84.jpg 300w, https:\/\/osiris.itabc.cnr.it\/scenebaker\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/assets-strip-1024x288.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1422px) 100vw, 1422px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Most of <em>per-asset<\/em> workflow focused on geometry optimizations, level of detail, uv-maps and other aspects, taking into account\u00a0a few considerations regarding VR best practices and\u00a0in-game fruition. At this stage, produced FBX were imported in\u00a0Unreal Engine in order to verify\u00a0modularization, parametrization and procedural generation, <a href=\"https:\/\/osiris.itabc.cnr.it\/scenebaker\/index.php\/2017\/06\/07\/building-procedural-instancing-tools-for-unreal-engine\/\">described in a previous post<\/a>. Such approach guarantees\u00a0great flexibility for level designers or,\u00a0if different hypotheses are validated during the process.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vgP54q72RxM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The video shows a short overview of a few experimentations right before the summer break, using\u00a0produced modular assets, their parametrization and a first draft for\u00a0PBR-based materials.\u00a0Such tasks were also carried out\u00a0in order to verify\u00a0performance scaling at macroscopic level.
